Oona's Critical Illness coverage is comprehensive, but the definition of "critical" is precise. Coverage typically applies to Major cancer conditions, which are defined as malignant tumors characterized by the uncontrolled growth and spread of malignant cells.
Most policies will exclude certain Early Stage or less severe cancers (such as certain skin cancers or pre-malignant conditions) that do not yet meet the severity threshold defined in the policy document. We highly recommend reviewing your policy's definitions of "Major Cancer" and "Carcinoma-in-situ" to understand the specific covered stages.
The maximum age for policy renewal varies depending on the specific Critical Illness product you choose. Typically, Oona offers policy renewals up to the age of 60 years old. This ensures that you can maintain essential financial protection during your key earning years and into early retirement.
Please check the "Policy Term" section of your individual policy for the exact maximum renewable age, or consult with our digital support team for clarity on your specific plan.
The benefit for a Critical Illness claim is paid as a lump sum (one-time) cash payout directly to you upon the diagnosis and confirmation of a covered critical illness that meets the severity criteria defined in your policy.
This payment is made regardless of any payments you receive from other health insurance plans you may hold. The lump sum is designed to provide you with financial flexibility to cover costs like specialized treatment, daily living expenses, or income replacement during recovery, helping you manage the unexpected without financial worry.
Specific bonuses for never claiming, such as "No-Claim Bonuses" (NCB), are more commonly associated with motor insurance. Most Critical Illness policies, including those offered by Oona, do not typically include a No-Claim Bonus as a standard feature.
However, certain plans might offer features like "Return of Premium" (ROP) options, which, if you survive the full policy term without claiming, might return a portion of your total paid premiums. You should consult the specific features of your chosen plan to see if a premium return feature is included.
Yes, like all insurance products, there are necessary exclusions to ensure the policy remains viable. The most common exclusions that prevent CI claims from being paid include:
Pre-Existing Conditions: Illnesses or symptoms that were diagnosed, or for which medical advice/treatment was sought, before the policy's commencement or waiting period.
Waiting Period: Claims submitted during the initial waiting period (e.g., 90 days) after the policy start date.
Self-Inflicted Injury or Attempted Suicide.
Specific Illnesses: Conditions not listed in the defined list of covered critical illnesses.
Full details are provided in your policy wording, and we encourage all customers to review the exclusion section thoroughly.
Generally, yes. If you are legally residing in Indonesia with the necessary permits (such as a KITAS or KITAP) and meet all other underwriting criteria (including age and health status), you are typically eligible to purchase Oona's Critical Illness coverage.
The policy is designed to cover events occurring globally, but the policy contract itself is governed by Indonesian law. We ensure the application process is simple and digital for all qualified residents.
